Today I made some fun pen holders. They were quick and easy so I thought I'd share with you how I made them as well as give one away.
Supplies you will need are:
(2) pieces of background fabric 3-1/2 inches x the length of your journal plus 1/2 inch.
(1) piece for the pocket 3-1/2 inches x 9-1/2 inches
(1) piece elastic 1/2 inch wide x length of journal plus 2 inches
First, fold pocket piece in half. Top stitch across. Pin in place and mark over 1.25 inches from either side. Stitch up to top seam to form dividers for pens.
Next, place the other background piece on top, right sides together and pin in place. Stitch up each side using 1/4 inch seam to create a tube.
Press side seams open. Fold up and press 1/4 inch for seam on top and bottom. Turn tube right side out.
Position elastic in the center of one of the ends of the tube. Line up edges and stitch across back stitching across the elastic a couple of times.
Center the other end of the elastic into the other end of the tube and pin in place. Stitch across, back stitching over the elastic a few times again, being sure the rest of the holder and elastic are out of the way.
And that's it. Just slide it onto your journal cover!
