It has been way, way too long since I did a blog post. To be honest, .....
I really hadn't been doing a lot of sewing. I was feeling too bogged down with work and life stuff. Then I sat back down at my machine and wondered why I hadn't been doing it all along. Sitting behind my little old Janome and creating things makes me feel so good and inspires me to do more!
So in addition to finally getting back behind my machine, I also sat down to finish up some patterns. The first one, Fiesta, was featured in Modern Quilts Unlimited back in 2014.
I can tell you, it was pretty exciting to see it in print!
This is one of my favorite quilts to cuddle under and the first one I usually grab. Since the magazine issue is years gone, I thought I'd write up the pattern to share in case anyone wants to make their own.
It's a fun and fast quilt to make and would look great in solids or patterned fabrics. I used Kona cotton solids by Robert Kaufman. I quilted it with organic wavy lines using Aurifil 50 wt., which made it nice and loose so you can wrap the quilt all around you.
